Does NYU have good financial aid?

I really want to go to NYU but I'm afraid of the out of state tuition to go there. It's just my mom and me living on her teacher salary. So my question is do you think I can get financial aid to at least cover some of the tuition? I realize I will end up with a lot of debt either way... And does anyone one know how the "campus" is cause I hear the buildings are really spread out.
