Transferring from a 2-year college.......credits?

I am transferring to NYU this september but they didn't accept my three AP courses that I took in highschool but my community college did. My question is that do I have to take all these three courses again at NYU? Another question is that even if i get out of community college with an associate degree will NYU accept that degree?
